Justin Tyack
PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT
Justin Tyack has 20 years of experience in supporting schools, school districts and various educational programs. For nine years at the New York City Department of Education, Justin held multiple roles supporting schools cross-functionally to achieve their goals and improve the educational opportunities available to New York City students ultimately holding the role of Chief Executive Officer for School Support. In this role, Justin was responsible for the day-to-day support provided to schools in operations, instruction and student achievement, and support for special populations through the management of a network structure supporting 1700 schools citywide.
Following his time at the New York City Department of Education, Justin took on the role of Chief Operating Officer at Bank Street College of Education supporting a graduate school of education, a portfolio of publicly and privately funded children’s programs, and an education center that partners with over 25 public school districts to improve educational practices in public schools nationally. In addition to managing and leading the operational functions associated with Bank Street, Justin was responsible for strategic planning for the organization across all programming.
Justin received both his Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University focusing on child advocacy and special education. His legal training allows him to help navigate many of the operational and regulatory hurdles that can exist in the education landscape.
